April 20, 2006 was Walworth County Day for the State of Wisconsin. Part of the celebration included the stocking in Lake Beulah of 2000 brown trout by the DNR. On hand for the event were several DNR representatives including Secretary Scott Hassett, and SE Region Director Gloria McCutcheon. Also on hand for the event were several representatives of your LBPIA, including Robert Burmeister, Ron Anders and Tom Bernhardt. Area residents assisted in the process by carrying pails of fish to the water.
DNR officials indicated that these fish tend to swim in large schools around the lake, so keep an eye out for them. Most will probably be caught by the end of June.
Remember to get a Trout Stamp for your fishing license if you choose to take any of these fish.
